NORTHOLT, Mai 25, 1757.

Y CYDWLADWR MWYN.

DOE y bu'm yn Llundain yn ymweled â'ch brawd, ac yn rhyw sut fe ffynodd gennym fod yr un feddwl yng nghylch argraphu barddoniaeth Gronwy Ddu, ac yr ydis yn amcanu dwyn y gwaith i ben gyntaf byth ag y gellir. Odid yn wir fuasai i mi byth fod yn ewyllysgar i'r peth (nes cael y saith gymaint o honynt o'r lleiaf) oni bai fy mod wedi rhoi llwyr ddiofryd yr awen ac ymwrthod â hi dros byth, ac na'm dawr (o'r plegyd) pa beth a ddel o ddim o'r eiddi, namun cael tal am y boen a dreuliais arni eisus, a phoed iach. Fy nymuniad gan hynny arnoch chwi yw, bod mor hynaws, (os rhynga'ch bodd) a gyrru i mi Ddychymyg Cryfion Byd ar ganiad Lladin i'r Cadben Ffwgs, Quid crepat, &c., ac od oes dim arall o'm gwaith nad yw gennyf eusus. And above all to take in sub- scriptions for me in your part of the country, which favour (I suppose) will be begg'd in my name by your brother, and some of the proposals sent you for that purpose as soon as they are ready. The towns he mention'd for fixing a corre- 'spondence in to get subscriptions are Holyhead, Aberffraw, Carnarvon, Denbigh, Wrexham, Salop, Carmarthen, &c.; in some of which I have a couple of town booksellers, viz., Dodd, and William Owen of Temple Bar, besides your brother. I beg you would excuse the shortness of my letter, because I'm busy in raising new correspondents, reviving old ones, &c., and have not a frank in the world. Owen Williams is well, and desires to be remember'd to you. I beg your answer by the first conveniency, and am, Dear Sir, your most obedient. servant,

GRONOVIUS.
